I need some help/suggestions on where to mount my transducer. The one I have on now only works when I'm going 5mph since it doesn't get clear water when going faster than that or on plane. As you can see in the pictures the previous owner had mounted a transducer on the bottom rib, near the drain hole (bottom white section). I'm thinking it didn't work well for them there since it was sort of inline with the prop and then they installed it where the transducer is now.

I have a new Hummindird DI/SI unit and don't want to mount it where I have the current transducer. I'd like to be able to use this unit when going faster than 5mph. The place I'm thinking of putting it is where I marked the yellow circle. Not sure what to call it. Outer hull/sponson. This is a HydroStream Vassarette that has a YT Hull. It's different, but meant for stability at high speeds. I can go 50+mph in this boat.

Let me know what you you think. I may have to just try a spot and test it out, but I'm hoping not to drill too many holes until I find a good place.
