I have a 14 ft. Crestliner with a 40 hp motor (sounds like it is very close in size to yours) and last year I put on it an 80 lb. Thrust Monn Kota Terrova. I was afraid it would be too much trolling motor for my boat, but it was the best decision I have ever made! I had it running against 20 mph winds all day one outing and it still had half battery power left when I got off the water. On setting 10, it gets my boat up to almost 3 mph. My advice would be to get as large of trolling motor as you can afford and fit on your boat. That is one purchase you won't regret.
