Subject: Re: E-Tec 150 HP vs Merc 150 HP 4 stroke

Living in Fond du Lac, the success of Mercury is very important to our community and the new 150 4stk has been very successful and was credited by management with helping bring new jobs to the area. I know some folks who work there, and they are very positive about it. They are very proud of the motor and how it has been performing. The word I got from an engineer when prior to it being released was that it would be most advanced four stroke in its class. In addition to wieght, it has a profile that supposed to have some advantages.

I have a 90hp Merc 4stk on my pontoon at our cottage and one of the first things people comment on when we take them for a ride is how quiet it is. I am not knocking the e-tec, just commenting on my experience.
