From my experience with waypoints you will eventually most likely want to interface all your units together so I would match brands. then you can have the same waypoints on all your units. I run a 5" up front and wish I would have bought the 7". But if I'm not using waypoints I shut the LCD down and run an indash flasher. I think it's quieter underwater.
