Yep. You pay $11 or $16 once. That's it. Use it forever. Best deal out there I think.

The iPad thing would be cool, or even using a Kindle Fire. Do iPads have internal modems? I know the Kindle Fire doesn't....but you can easily teather it to your smartphone using the wireless capabilities found on phone like the Droid.
