My 24 volt system has run out on me once. After 7 hours of battling winds that gusted up to 60 mph. Optima batteries are what I run and I have no worries. 18.5 foot Ranger VS, Muskie Edition.

If I were to go to a 36 volt system, I'd need a new charger and more space for another battery. That would be even more weight in the boat. And really I'd only reap the benefit on days when it is so windy that I should probably not be on the water anyway.
