this may be dumb question but I'll ask it anyways. I have a triton tr-21 bass boat but I musky fish out of it mostly and want to upgrade my trolling motor. I have a 74lb minnkota on it now and want to put the terrova ipilot on it. Every bass boat I've fished in or remember seeing has the fortrex or something similar...am I missing something or would a terrova with a shorter shaft work for my boat? Also wondering if its worth the money and hassle to go with the 101lb and upgrade to a 36vlt system?

Thanks,

Adubs

If I understand your question right, the reason the majority of bass fisherman prefer a cable drive motor is because of the instant response time, which is awesome if you fish a lot of shallow stump fields but not necessary if you are working down a deep weedline. The response time on the terrova will be a little bit slower. It all comes down to the way in which you fish the majority of the time. There are always compromises...
