My Ranger is an 18.5 footer. 24 volt is plenty for me. But if I had a 21 foot boat, I'd certainly get the 36 volt system. I think that my 24 volt has the 42 inch shaft. And I wish it was a little longer, but it was either 42 or 60 for me and 60 was just too long.
