Unfortunately, unless I wanna drop 40K+ on a brand new 1850 LS, I don't have much choice on my motor. I've searched for weeks and only located 3 boats, 2 with 150 opti's and 1 with a 175 Verado. I don't have much experience with Verados and the increase in price is around 4k, which could be spent on electronics or a kicker to eliminate the smoke or smokeless conversation altogether. This is a boat I plan on having for a number of years, not just for fishing but taking clients out and cruising with the growing family. I plan to troll a lot....kings on lake mich, eyes on erie and Skis on LSC. Tough decision to buy now or wait 2 years and get the wider, longer 1850 LS with hopefully more motor options and a discounted price.

How badly can someone harm an Opti or Verado if they didn't break it in properly? Both engines have around 60 hours and are 2010's? Any issues with the 2010 models?

And yes Shep I couldn't ever forget that week on the woods with you and KLY. Awesome memories.
