Subject: inexpensive custom boat cover - how?

Hello. I have a few questions regarding a canvas cover for my runabout boat.

The problem:
I am currently using a canvas cover for my boat that I bought at Wal-Mart. The problem is it doesn’t fit perfectly. I tie it down pretty tight using elastic straps with metal hook ends. But I still have the wind kick up parts of the cover and knock against the boat (wearing the paint off).

What I need is something that is easy and fast to put on. I would be interested in doing it myself if it saves money (is their snap kits? Can you recommend a brand and where I can buy this from). I want something strong and that will last me. Waterproof is a must of course.

Other considerations:

1. If I get a customer cover I only need the cover to go from the windshield on back.

2. The boat is very old. So I don’t think they would even sell a cover that fits perfectly. That’s why I am considering the custom option. Is there any pros and cons for button down covers (is using straps a better option)?

3. Can you give me specifc manufactures and where can I buy these products?

Your advice, help is appreciated.
