Like Dr Depth it only works for data you record on areas you survey. You must go on the water and log data on a card. Your unit will record a track with GPS position and depth when you have thouroughly covered an area you generate a contour map.
In Dr depth you will not get areas too shallow to take the boat or shoreline and islands unless you put them in your self. I imagine Insite works the same. Someone smarter than me could probably overlay a google map. I found it to be more work than I was prepared to do
