The bigger screens are always nice. I run a 998 and 788 in my boat with the 788 upfront. If I were to upgrade, I'd make the 788 larger since that is the one I'm using when fishing. I'd be honest with yourself about whether you will use the SI/DI. It is great for certain things that 2D sonar cannot do, (life finding openwater bait, or getting a visual on irregularities in a weed line) but if you are fishing a system you know really well it might not add much value to your fishing.
