Location: Hayward WI		I bought a remanufactured Maxium 7 years ago and haven't had an issue and it was several hundred less than new. I went to a local tackle shop (Minn Kota service center) and they ordered it for me. If and when I need another, I would buy a remanufactured one. As you said, it comes with a 1 yr warrenty and if it's a true defect, it will show up quickly (unless you don't fish much).
