Haha....you guys have it all freaking wrong. This is not a problem at gradually sloping launches, only at launches that are too freaking steep.
At a steep launch, you HAVE too back the trailer WAY WAY in...get some water under the bow. So, with water under the bow when the boat comes of it is floating higher than that roller.
If your not in far enough when the boat comes off, it drops to water level, smoking that roller on the way down.
Missed one point on this....do not unhook the boat from it's winch strap or safety chain until you have backed in plenty far |
