I have a small 14.5' deep V that I use mostly for trolling and a little casting. Eventually I am looking to get a larger boat but for now I am going to continue using the one I have. It has a 9.9 evinrude that is older (1996 model 2 stroke) and it is a little loud. I am looking to get a new outboard for my boat and may consider a 15hp to help scoot me around a little better. What brand of outboard is the quietest and do you think going from a 9.9 to a 15 will show much different in speed?
