I have an analog gauge. I don't have an air compressor so is this something tricky I should have my repair shop handle or is there another way to get it cleaned out?

My high temp alarm went off alerting me to the problem originally. After I cleaned out the discharge with the garden hose and also by using a small piece of wire to loosen up the sand at the discharge port, I had no additional issues with the temp alarm and the engine showed no signs of any overheating. I ran the engine for about 4 days after the incident as I was on vacation at the time and it ran just fine. Just couldn't get a water pressure reading.

I had the impeller replaced last winter during my annual engine service. After cleaning the port, I am getting a good strong stream of water, so I think my only issue is with the water pressure gauge. I also re-cleaned everything when I got home and got a little more sand to wash out at the garden hose connection plug.
