That is exactly what the smart tabs do. They are todays 'old school' tabs. No controls, no sensors, just spring or hydraulic tension.

Sweet. That is exactly what mine do. Except I don't have the spring arm. Mine just has a spring coiled inside the hinge.....just like automatic door hinges.
