You can get up to 8' rods on the port side rod locker and you can squeeze an 8'6" into the starboard side storage locker into a 165 Navigator. I use collapsible rods when I want something over 8'. You can also lay 3 or 4 rods that are not in use on the platforms running along the sides. If you only have two guys in the boat they aren't in the way for the most part. There's always the chance that you could step on one, but I never have to worry about them falling out of the boat.
