I fish the Angle all summer, and I have no use for the contour lines. One does not need the contour line to avoid the rock as they are pretty well marked. The Lake Master map in my Humming Bird seems to be missing some hittable rocks that are on the older Navionics chips.

Once one chooses an island to fish, the depth finders are much more important than a map chip. Most rocks off islands are marked and are located in the general area they are shown on the map, and the depth finder will tell much more than a set of contour lines. Map chips and the paper maps are not 100% accurate, and one is fishing in very shallow water where depths change in a matter of a few feet. Contour lines will not help as much as the depth finder and keeping ones eyes open looking for rocks.

Any map will keep one away from most hittable rocks; even on a 10-inch screen the contour lines seem to add too much unhelpful clutter.

Just my opinion and thoughts…
