Location: Iowa		I've never been in a 618, but agree with Steve. I LOVED my 681VS, but a lot of that was because I could still get into pretty skinny water on the local river. Don't get me wrong, it handled some pretty good waves too, but my 690VS handles so much more. I could get longer rods in the 681 locker though. ONLY reason I got rid of the 681 is because I could NOt pass up the deal I found on the 690.
