Well, bye-bye LSS-1 transducer anyway. The actual LSS-1 is the square interface box with the transducer and your HDS unit plugged in to it. Then there's a network port on it as well as a couple open ports for other units.

But you're right about the transducer sticking out so far--and the LSS-2's transducer (the HD one) sticks out even farther! It's one of the reasons I went with the LSS-1 actually. That, and the $300 rebate. I didn't see anything that made me want to make the jump to the LSS-2, at least not yet...
