There is more than one way to fish with an electric motor. Seems like everyone is brainwashed into believing the only way to go is balls to the wall into the waves. Not so. I used a 12V with two batteries in parallel for years and there is always a way to fish an area if you are resourceful. Slip, control drift, or use the big motor if you have to. Sure a bigger trolling motor is nice, but it sure isn't nescessary to catch fish. When trolling motors first came out 50 lbs. thrust was unheard of and people still caught fish with a lot less.
