Originally put a car stereo in my FishHawk. Didn't last long. Even if it's hnder the dash, it will still be exposed to moisture. Put a marine stereo in and haven't had a problem since. Going on 7 years. My marine stereo has the removable face plate and a little blinking LED security light. This light will constantly drain on the cranking battery, so i would suggest an inline switch to disconnect from the battery when the boat is not being used.
