I'm looking for options right now too. I've got a new to me 1997 690VS with a Merc. 150. Finally got it out on the river today. Full tank of fuel, but not much fishing gear (walleye fishing). High Five 23P, 2 people-up river 46.8 mph, down river 48.3 mph. Just me, while Dad was getting truck, down river-50.7 mph. All about 5400 rpm's. All gps, dream-o-meter reads about 9 mph faster. What hole is your motor mounted in? Not sure what mine is right now. GREAT hole-shot, but feel like I could over rev pretty easily by full trim.
