Storm Strike, simple supply and demand... demand for 690s in good / great condition is very high still to this day. supply is low...they fish great, handle big and small water awesome and for what new 619/620s are going for 18k for a 690 is still not a bad deal....I have a standing offer for 21k for mine no TM or electronics but I do have a new motor on mine...
there are some steals out there, I know of one guy who got a pretty nice 692 for under 9k but the old lady he bought it from didn't know the true value... a good used 690/692 with a motor that checks out is still a good deal at 15-18k... just because a motor has 500 - 900 hours on it doesn't mean it can't easily go another 500-900 hrs without a hiccup.
