Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | DO be cautious about mounting a kicker on a bass boat, for several reasons. Many bass boats do not have a transom all the way across, in fact very few do. Therefore, the laminate may only be hull thickness of perhaps a quarter of an inch max or much less, which is not intended to carry the stress and weight of a kicker motor and mount. At the very least, make sure you back the bolts on the inside of the hull with a one piece aluminum or FRP block plexused to the hull that spans the bolt pattern by more than 4" on both sides, and is at least 3" high.
Another concern is weight distribution and what the kicker may do to performance when the hull is running off the pad or on, especially in an emergency stop situation. |
