I would definitely get the 60" shaft....that's what I have on my bass boat, its rare but Ive had that out of the water in IA on very wind days.



It is amazing how tall the waves can get on some of our lakes. I don't think I would be in rough enough water, but then I think about some of the stuff I took my jon boat in (that I probably shouldn't have). It is easier to fish rougher water with a bigger boat, so I think you are right. I probably better go with a 60.
