I have a 1750 with a Merc 115 two stroke on it. I run about 43 mph consistently (GPS speed). I keep hearing from other owners that they can get about 50 out of the same rig. I run about 5000 rpm (I think the top end on my motor is 5200).

Is it possible I have to change the motor height on my rig by moving it up a hole for more speed? It is currently in the middle hole on the mounting bracket.

What are the rest of you hawk owners finding, and please don't add the obligatory "mine is bigger than yours" five miles an hour. I am trying too see if I need to do any tweaking over the winter.
