I have to dump this POS '03 Explorer.  I live in rural north and must have 4WD, an interior that can handle rods to 8', a backseat for my dog and decent gas milage.  I''m towing a light boat and travel a lot.  I have about $12K to spend.

 What would you recommend I check out?
