Location: Minneapolis		I've had similar problems off and on. Sometimes I need to get a new control board for the head of the motor. Sometimes the coiled power cord between the base and head needs tweaking. This weekend, my motor would turn right but left was iffy. After manually turning the motor head like you described, it worked both ways.

My motor is old enough (7 years) I'm not willing to spend much on repairs. Let me know if you figure anything out definitively.
