If you get the GT it is considerably lower profile. I can reach the water for a figure 8 with a 6' rod from the front deck of a 1760 with no issues.

The two hulls are completely different. The 1700 is a great ride and will handle rough water really well, but the 1760 is better. It's also wider and longer, offering more cockpit and deck space.
