Mine was acting similarly and I upgraded to the newer software and bought which helped it work in shallow weedy water but it was still cutting out and showing goofy depths so I bought a new transducer - works amazingly now. I can read depth at 40 mph now and it never loses depth readings... It is working better than ever.
