Our Body Shop at Phillips Ford (and most other body shops) will apply spray-in bedliner material on the rust spots. Rocker panels are common to rust out. We see bottoms of doors to be very common. We normally spray from the front of the truck (just behind the front wheels) to the back of the truck (to the rear bumper). The strip we spray is usually only about 8 inches high so it looks like a two-tone paint job.
