I have a '96 Evinrude 70 on a 16.5' Smokercraft. This past weekend I had it out and noticed that my top speed was down @ 2-3 mph from what it had been recently. After taking the boat out I noticed a new small ding on 2 blades and that the prop shaft had @ 1/16" of endplay. Is the endplay normal or should I start worrying about bearings? Would a new prop help with my top speed or is this a tired engine issue? Thank you for any help.
