Hey Guys:

Out fishing this weekend on opener trying out a new Premium North Navionics chip on an HDS10.

The lake we went to that was in HD with 1 foot increments was incredible. It was perfect spot on.

The 2 lakes we went to that were not in HD were not even close. We were driving on land, mid lakd humps weren't even close, etc.

Am I safe to assume that the non-HD lakes have not been surveyed and is basically like looking at the paper map that isn't even close either?

I know the lakemaster chips are like this as well. I would assume that Navionics does the same type of deal that lakemaster did. They map lakes, but the other lakes are basically like the MN DNR maps which are not too accurate.

I have found that even some lakes that were mapped there are areas that are not accurate at all. I think they skip over some areas and focus on the main areas of the lake.
