Yep a three bank is the way to go. I was trying to communicate how you might charge two 12V batts with a 12V charger at the same time WHEN YOU DON'T have a multibank charger. I think the question was "i have a 24 system and a 12 v charger, what do I do?". In this case, putting the batteries in parallel and using the 12V charger is an option. It's a good thing to know for the reasons I mentioned above.

I have a three bank minnkota in my boat and its been great. Just plug it in and off you go. If you have the money, throw it at a multibank charger and like shep said no more messing around.
