On my previous boat with a 1999 50hp mariner I usually parked it covered up outside the middle of December. Got it back in the water the middle of March. Always ran 89 octane ethanol mix. I never had a problem with it. Usually no sta-bill either. Always started right up in the spring and ran great all year. I ran that motor 8 years with no gas related problems. 2 times a year I empty the spare gas cans in my garage (for the generator), into whatever needs it and have never had a problem with any of that either.
