Location: Cedarburg, Wisconsin | Are you saying the charger read 1 amp when you tried to charge the battery? If so, it means the batter is almost fully charged. If you had a meter and it read 1 volt then you'd be in big trouble. A fully charged battery is about 12.68V when resting. If it is lower than that, say 12.3V, it needs charging. Then if it says 1 amp when charging you have a problem unless you are using a trickle charger and then it wouldn't mean anything again. If your volts are low, you have a 10 amp or bigger charger, the battery is at the correct level, and it reads 1 amp when you try charging, then the battery is bad for sure.
