I'm strongly considering purchasing one of these two boats. I love both layouts but I'm not sure about going aluminum or going with the 1700 which can only run a 60HP.

How much better will the 1700 fish in wind (i.e boat control and drift)?

Can the 1700 tiller be converted to an esox like the console versions?

I spoke with a dealer who has a non-current 1700. He claimed he had a sticker from Tuffy and he could put a 70 HP Yamaha on it. Sounded kind of shady to me. Is there any way this is possible or legal?

Also, what was the price point on a new 1700 tiller with a 60?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.
