Leave your boat in the water and keep your engine down. With the engine up your exposed to the air temps which are well below freezing. While the water temps will remain above freezing. I have fished well into the first week of November with over night temps in the teens. Resort owner told me to leave the engine down in the water. I also took note of the fact that all of his rentals were in the water with engines down.
We had no issues.
