On the HDS units you can set the "Saftey Depth" easy enough to find playing around in the menu.
The (safty depth) can be set to 6, 18, and 30ft? (Numbers might be slightly off but its close?) and then everthing that depth and shallower is blue, and deeper stuff shows up white.. I use it in summer on 6ft, so just the shallow stuff sticks out.. Makes humps, submerged points etc.. easier to locate quickly. Fall it goes to the 18. Only 3 settings, would be nice if you could set whatever depth you like, but the 6 and the 18 do what I need..
