I ended up installing a stainless steel hydrofoil the other day(Cobra Edge). I took the boat out the next day, albeit by myself, and it seems to get up on plane much quicker than it did before. I have never had alot of trouble planing while solo, but I had a half tank of gas, gear, and it seemed to get out of the hole with less throttle. I did notice less porpoising on the top end and mid range, but again, the real test will be when I have one or more adult passengers. However, the porpoising reduction was quite noticable so far. That said, I did see a slight reduction on top end(about 1 mph), and the boat was a bit touchy in the turns at top end, where it used to turn on a dime. I can live with that if the hole shot and porpoising both prove to be improved with more dudes in the rig.
