Location: Warroad, Mn | Back in the old days when the biggest trolling motor you could buy was an 18 lb Mercury Thruster I commonly ran my kicker to get along in the wind. I would suspect that this is similar to what you are trying to do. In general it works great, you use the bow mount to steer with, and the combination to power the boat. Biggest problem is when you want to stop or slow down as the rear end motor wants to keep pushing. Bet if you had a kill switch for the rear motor it would work better than you think.
