Location: Elkhorn, WI | I bought a used Power Drive 80 and am about to install it. Does anyone know if a quick release mounting plate is standard with these motors? The base (mounting bracket) looks to be made of aluminum. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to remove the base from the rest of the unit before installing it or if I should just put the motor in the deployed position and hang it over the deck, position it, and then mount it in place. I'm hoping the mounting bracket separates from the unit so as to make it easier to take the motor on and off the boat untill until I can get the custom cover altered to fit the much larger motor.
