I am restoring an old tuffy and had a question about a clear coat over the paint. I am trying to do this fairly inexpensive, so I used spray paint on the boat after sanding, priming, etc... (It turned out great!) The paint is pretty scratch resistant by itself, but I was thinking of mixing up a monster batch of the 2 part envirotek epoxy and covering the entire hull... I have used this on tons of lures and it holds up great even after getting smashed by a muskie. Any thoughts? Part of me keeps thinking after it cracks the rest will flake off in no time. Has anyone ever tried this? Or is there a better product I could use? Thanks!

I will post pics when I'm done as it may help someone else.

Joe
