Location: Cedarburg, Wisconsin | True, wax will slow you down in hi speed applications. A shark's skin is a good comparison. Supposedly it's rougher like fine sandpaper and it has the lowest coefficient of friction. As said before, wax just increases the wetted surface area that has contact with the water creating more friction.
Unless you have a screamin' machine, I doubt if it would make a noticeable difference. I tried waxing my old Ranger 1600V's hull thinking it would make me super fast, and it didn't do squat except give me sore arms from cleaning and shining. |
