i had the same ? - i see the sho is only in 20" shaft now.

yamaha claims REDUCED fuel consumption over the vmax 2 2 stroke. problem is that number can be very misleading. like a verado - might be better than engine "x" at cruising speed but wot is sucks the gas. the new yamaha is a 4.2l and i would think that would suck gas wot or during acceleration. i would love to see the gas use at the higher rpms vs the 2 strokes.

agree about having to prove the technology - lighter can be stronger (aka titanium) but they need to prove reliability. yamaha has had a good track record with technology in the past.
