Yeah, I've seen some Ranger Z boats (pics) with them on, and have read of a couple of guys who've ridden in them and the initial reports are good. I think the speed and power are there as advertised. It's the technology that will have to prove itself. Not just the engine design itself with the lighter weight and the cylinder walls, but simple stuff like the oil pumps on the HPDI's a few years ago. I'm a Yamaha guy all the way. Part of me is glad I repowered last year with a 225 Sport, but part of me wishes I'd had a shot to repower with a SHO. I don't know if you'll see any/many on Ranger multi species or salt boats right away, as they've got 25" motors and I'm pretty sure the SHO is available in 20". But I could easily be mistaken in either regard.
