To summarize what T.J. said, yeah, the HDS is day and night better. I installed an HDS8 last fall, and holy crap....! I left my transducer installed from my 25C, and plug-and-play it was just amazing the detail and what I could see out of the box. They are as amazing out of the box as they say they are.
