could be several reasons. Used boat, dealer is Merc only, boat is already rigged or buying a Lund or C'Liner and anything else would be cost prohibitive.

Mercury produces great motors. Yep, they had some isues with the 200-2001 Opti big blocks, but those motors have been rock solid since 2002. The Verado is a great motor. The 150 is a 4 cyl, and still supercharged, so your performance will exceed that of all other 4-strokes. Hole shot, mid range, and top end. You'll love the motor.
